A Bonding Weekend

This past weekend was the fourth annual A.S.I.A. Women's Conference. Cody once again proved to be such an amazing husband. Not only did he take Friday off so I could attend, but he also told me he didn't expect to see me the entire weekend because my friends from Taiwan were in town.

The conference was excellent. It was spiritually and emotionally edifying and made me want to better my efforts as a wife and mother. I'm so grateful to Cody for allowing me to have that experience.

I'm also grateful my Taiwan friends came and that I was able to spend lots of time with them!! These girls are so much fun and kept me laughing most of the weekend. I loved every second of it!
We had a lot of fun chatting and catching up, as well as shopping...maybe we had a little too much fun shopping...

We also had the opportunity to attend the temple.
Can I just say, I love going to the temple! The calm and comfort that I feel there is always a welcome change from the outside world. Although nothing can replace attending with Cody, going with friends was also a wonderful experience.

Cody and Jadyn survived the weekend without me. As if I ever had any doubt. When I came home on Saturday night, I expected the house to be a disaster (like it is most days when I am home), but no. Cody had done the dishes (by hand, mind you) and straightened up the place. What a good man I have! I think they were as exhausted as I was though. On Sunday I stayed after church for the baptism of a girl in my primary class. When I came home, this is the precious site I walked in on:
I love these two so, sooo much! I think they had some lovely bonding time with me away. Cody left for Vietnam this morning and Jadyn was pretty adamant that she was going with him. She ran in her room and hurried to get herself dressed, complete with shirt on backwards, perfectly matched clothing, shoes, and headband. We told her she had to stay, and with the below pouty face, mumbled, "but I want to go with daddy." It took us a bit to get her to smile, but...
...she eventually did. We miss you already, Hon. Thanks for being such a great daddy and husband. Love you!

Thank Heavens for girl time. Sometimes it's just what you need to kick you in the pants and gear you up for a new week. It's so sweet how much Jadyn loves her daddy. What is it with us girls and our "Fellows"?
