Learning

Every time I sew something, I learn something new. It is such a fun experience. I want to document my progress, so I will post my projects occasionally (hopefully it will be a nice change from all the site-seeing that gets posted on here). :) These are the items I sewed throughout February.

Pajama refashion. Inspired by Fancy Nancy's pants in Fancy Nancy and the Fabulous Fashion Boutique. I used a pair of Jadyn's pants as a guideline.

Before

After

A sweater for Jade. Inspired by Grosgrain Fabulous. I was disappointed there wasn't enough fabric to gather the edging like she did, but at least there was enough to go all the way around!

Before & After

After

A new Sunday skirt.

A little video of what Jadyn does during our "model shoots." It's amazing I can get a picture at all!

This last one is a skirt I actually made last summer I think. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, so it has been sitting in my closet ever since. I pulled it out a couple weeks ago and wore it to church, trying to give it a chance. The conclusion: I still don't like it. I keep trying to think of ways to change it to make it into something cute. I come up blank every time. Maybe it would help if I started using patterns. What I'll probably end up doing is cut it apart and make something entirely different. If you have any ideas for it, please let me know!!

I can probably come up with tutorials for Jadyn's gray skirt and the pink pajama pants if anyone is interested. Let me know!

Wow! Those are really great. It's hard to imagine how you did it and appears to be difficult. I think the refashioning of your clothing for Jadyn is really fascinating; its awesome really.

Have you decided on a name for your new line of clothing? Maybe Jade Nicole? It has a nice ring to it. I'll help you make a logo. :) Awesome work! I love the pants and the sweater. To be honest, the sweater looks intimidating... how did you do it? In fact, I would love a tutorial on the pants because I think Katelyn would love them. So cute!!!

You are so amazing Nicole!!!!
After watching Jaydn on that hilarious video I'd like to title: "Jaydn Keep Your Skirt Down", I started thinking that she is definitely your daughter alright! I especially love how she says "barm" for farm. Miss her!!!
