The Cutest Little Lantern Town

One of our day trips during Charise and Greg's visit was a little bit too beautiful for me to narrow down just a couple pictures to include in the last post.

We took an overloaded/jam-packed (crowded is an understatement) train to Shifen (pronounced 'sure fun').

Shifen was kicking off the celebrations for the upcoming Lantern Festival. The adorable little town was decorated with Chinese lanterns lining the streets.

We stopped for lunch at a quaint restaurant in the town.

Then we took a scenic walk to the Shifen waterfalls.

After viewing the waterfalls, we hopped back on the train and stopped at PingXi where we set off our own lantern.

So many fun things to see.... So the other night I was watching the travel channel and the topic was unusual restaurants and the one they were featuring was called The Modern Toilet, and guess what it is in Taiwan! Not sure where but they said it has gotten so popular they have opened a few chains. The “perk” of this place is that all of their food, drinks and desserts are served in toilet shaped bowls, cups and plates. Doesn’t that sound fabulous????!!!! Apparently they are known for their ice cream that looks like you know what. Sounds a little strange but they were voted best in flavor for their curry chicken! Why did I watch such a strange thing you may ask..... Because it said Taiwan and I thought of my friend Nicole! So you should go check it out and send me a picture!

Maybe you should go for your BIRTHDAY coming up soon!!!!!
Love ya…..
