The last few days have been big for our little Jade. She was showing signs of crawling, so I decided to try to encourage the skill. Sure enough she was ready to get moving. The videos in this clip were taken Tuesday and yesterday.
It fascinates me how quickly babies can learn and grow--especially after the six month mark! It seems like there is something new and surprising each day. I love the stage Jadyn is in; I feel like I have a little buddy I can play and interact with. She is so much fun!
Now that Jade's mastered rice cereal and seems to like it pretty well, I thought we should give something else a try. Naturally, I started with apples. They sell a few varieties of the Gerber baby food here, so I bought what I could find of Stage 1 foods. Applesauce seemed like a simple and safe food, but it didn't really go over very well. We tried it for the first time yesterday and Jade's reaction was so funny, I just had to grab the camera.
After a few more tastes, she wouldn't eat anymore, so I put it in the fridge until this morning (can't waste that expensive stuff!). When I brought it out for her to try again, she was a little reluctant at first. Then I showed her it was good by taking a bite, then giving her one. That seemed to go over pretty well, so we did that a few times until she would eat it on her own. I think she got use to the new flavor, because she ended up finishing the bottle. Whew! I was worried she wasn't going to like anything if she didn't like such a simple food as apples!!!

I love her "swim" crawl! She is so advanced! In the last video when she was reachimg for the camera, I wanted to pick her up and squeeze her! She is so sweet!
OH MY GOSH!!! She is so stinking cute! Mack and I watched it together this morning and he was mesmerized by her! I can’t believe she is already crawling! Every time I see her do something new I try and get Mack in gear! He is not moving like her… in fact he still hates his belly and when we do tummy time he just rolls on to his back and then rolls across the floor.
I’m glad to see that you have started foods. You are so brave. I think last time I talked to you, you were dreading even trying the rice cereal. We are still working on it with Mack. He will eat a little bit of rice cereal but sweet potatoes and apples was not a success! He apparently doesn’t have the taste for such things yet!
Holy Crap she is so big now! Sitting up, eating baby food, and crawling?! What's next? Some guy will be there to pick her up on a date soon!! Can't wait to see you guys! Miss you tons!
that's about what my son's reaction was. his whole body shook! i think he likes squash and sweet potatoes much better! it's so fun, isn't it!
Oh she's so cute! I love how her little legs kick as she's scooting across the carpet. I can just see you smiling while you watch her! (I was doing the same thing when I saw it.)
Jade is getting so grown up! Way to go! Looks like you are continuing in your fun adventures. How are you? Are you settling in okay? I hope all is well with you. I was going to tell you..."Healthy sleep Habits, Happy Child" is the book I've used with Graham and he is a champion sleeper! It's worth a shot...:) Today was the Primary Program...the kids were cute. We get our first visitor this weekend... woo hoo! Oh and THANKS for the recipes...I'll have to send you a lemon chicken one we had tonight...delicious and EASY!
Wow, Jadyn is getting so big! I can't believe she's scooting so fast already! Looks like she's going to be ready to full on crawl in just a month or two! Crazy! So cute. And I love her reaction to the applesauce. David was like that (and still is) with a couple of the fruits. He has always been a vegetable boy. I love your baby and how happy and "all growed up" she is. Talk to you soon...I hope!
That girl is crazy! I can't believe how much she is moving. Just like her Mom, things to do and see!! Don't worry about the food, she will get used to it...some of them take awhile. Liv still gags on applesauce although she likes most others. Sweet potatoes are her favorite, so maybe give them a try. Good luck with everything, I hope Jadyn is sleeping better. Liv is giving me a run for my money in that department and it is awful...

Wow she is growing up so fast! She is so pretty. Seems like she might be a picky eater like someone else I know.
