During our stay in Phuket, we spent a lot of time at the beach. Our hotel was a very short walk to Kamala Beach. Of all the beaches I have been to, Kamala is probably my very favorite. ![]()
With how family-friendly and convenient Kamala is, it fit perfectly into our vacation as we were focusing it around the kids!
Not only is it stunning with fine white sand and incredibly clear water, the water is also very warm and calm (in the morning there are little to no waves), a large section of the beach is completely shaded by trees for the first half of the day, and it is not as crowded as some of the other beaches (especially first thing in the morning when our kids are up and raring to go)! ![]()
These are all things I love in a beach, especially when our kids are involved. ![]()
Cody, on the other hand, named it the most boring beach ever. Warm, shallow, and no waves! Cody would prefer a little body surfing action, but it wasn’t to be.
There was one day—I think it was Monday, after it was stormy all of Sunday—when Kamala actually had a few decent waves. Cody headed out to try to catch some, but I don’t think they were strong or deep enough. ![]()
The water was absolutely suited for young children. All of us spent hours and hours out in it. ![]()
The water was so warm and calm, even Ridge enjoyed hanging out in his baby raft, playing in the water with us. We were so busy playing, we didn’t even get his picture out there! Now that I think about it, we hardly took any pictures playing in the water—probably because the camera is much safer that way! ![]()
We did, however, get lots and lots of pictures playing in the sand!
Another thing we look for in a good beach is quick access to food! We adore eating at places right along the beach. Several little restaurants were lined up on one end of Kamala. On the opposite end though, was this little tree house tucked away in the corner. ![]()
The inside had a very relaxed atmosphere, complete with beanbag seating and good views! ![]()
Whenever we had the chance, we watched the sunset before heading over to one of the restaurants to eat dinner.![]()
The restaurants were open-air huts, really, with the tables right in the sand and a tiny kitchen in the back.
After a fun day at the beach, Jade really enjoyed using the hotel’s cute feet washing station before we headed to our room to get all cleaned up.

What a beautiful place! Great place to relax! love ya
Someone needs to let Ridge know that when you go to the beach you are suppose to wear shorts! Not long pants! ;) Haha This really isn't helping my mega huge desire to go on Vacation right now, and I officially can't! Ugh. It looks so magical.
