Jadyn is Gree

Jadyn turned three on April 30th! I went against a couple of my birthday beliefs this year: a person's birthday should be celebrated ON the actual day and everyone should have a cake (not made by them) ON their birthday. Jade didn't really get either of those ON her birthday. Although I did feel a little bit guilty, she did get to celebrate two separate days, so hopefully we made up for it.

My parents planned their trip over Jade's birthday so we could take her to Disneyland. Her birthday was on a Saturday, so we opted to go Friday because A) it wouldn't be as crowded and B) Jade would not yet be three, so she would still be free (refer to previous post about being a cheapskate frugal).
Lucky for us it rained on us pretty good for part of the morning.
Pretty sure Jade had a good time anyway. We just tried to stay on the covered rides...just like everyone else.
Jadyn latched on to Grandpa and Grandma as soon as she saw them at the airport.
She pretty much didn't want anything to do with Mom or Dad for the rest of the week.
Any time we asked her whose hand she wanted to hold or who she wanted to ride with, it was always "Grandma Lemon!"
My mom had a little buddy everywhere she went. Even at 6 a.m. when Jade woke up each morning and climbed in bed with her for stories.

Cody spotted Rapunzel after one of the rides, so it worked out perfect that the birthday girl had her picture taken with her. Rapunzel actually spent quite a bit of time talking with Jade and was so sweet with her. Here Jadyn is telling Rapunzel she is "gree" years old.
I thought it was so cute (even if cheesy) when Rapunzel told Jadyn, "I hope you have the best birthday ever!"

At the parade Jadyn got to go up and dance with some of the fairies. Too fun.

Once again, Jadyn fell asleep just minutes before the fireworks.

Although we didn't actually do the official cake and presents until Sunday night, we couldn't help but let Jade open presents intermittently throughout the weekend, on her actual birthday, and then again on Sunday.
She had so many gifts between both sets of grandparents that it actually worked out well. Then she was excited about each one and enjoyed them for awhile before she got the next one later on. Actually I think I may want to carry this on as tradition in future years.
This is the look of death Cody gave me when he realized the doll highchair we bought Jade didn't come pre-assembled. Hahahaha! At least my handy Dad was there to help. ;)

It was too difficult for them, so they both decided to just sit back and let Jade put it together herself.Cute little birthday girl.

Jade struggled blowing out her candles. It was pretty funny, so I started recording about 3 minutes in. You can sorta get the idea.
