Double Time

I guess our holidays are finally over. Well, unless you count the lantern festival coming up this weekend. Cody just doesn't get any days off for it. I was back in Taipei for a week and then Cody had a week off for Chinese New Year. It was awesome. The vacation just kept going. I decided one great thing about living here is Cody gets double time off for holidays because he receives the major American/Christian holidays and Chinese holidays off.

Here is a run down of our holiday activities. Lucky for you, you get double the post; I will keep it as concise as possible.

Jadyn's first Christmas

Casey's wedding (Cody's brother)

Visit friends and family I didn't get pictures of everyone we were able to see, nor did we get to see everyone we wanted to. Good thing I'm going back to Utah in March!

Plan Charise's wedding That's right, my sister, Charise, is engaged to a wonderful man named Greg. Hence the reason I'm going back in March!

Lots, and lots, and lots of quality time with the grandparents, aunts, and uncles I loved that Jadyn was able to spend so much time with them! I really tried to make that our priority this trip.

Learn to make Chinese food at playgroup (dumplings and ren bings)

Chinese New Year night market on DiHua Street

Chinese New Year lion dance
Video will hopefully be coming later... once we can figure out how to upload the video file type from our new camera.

Confucius and Taoist temples

Hike up TianMu Ancient Path

Taipei Zoo

Jade's favorite animals were the monkeys, flamingos, and zebras.

My favorite animals were the pandas (I told Cody he fulfilled a dream of mine... even if we only got to see them for .2 seconds due to the limit of 20,000 people that get to see them a day--that is why the below picture is kinda blurry), koala bear, hippos, and penguins.

This is Jadyn's little buddy that followed us around for part of the day.

Sounds like you had a great visit home! I am so in awe of you doing the trip back by yourself! You are a strong woman! I would have probably cried all the way home or just decided to not go back until I could have help!

Tell Charise congratulations for me! (If she even remembers me!) That is so exciting that she is getting married! I love your family. They are such nice people!
