So Very Close

I found a really cute grocery cart for Jadyn's 1st birthday (which is still a little over two months away) at a store nearby. That may not seem very exciting, but it is. It REALLY is. "Cute" toys and good toys can be hard to find in Taiwan. I know it sounds crazy, because you are thinking, "but all the toys are made there." While that may be true, they apparently are not sold here. Because I can't find them. Taiwan does have Toys R Us, but the baby section is VERY limited. A friend in Hong Kong gave us some wise advise when we lived there. She said if you see something you want, buy it; do not wait, because it may not be there the next time you look for it. As far as I could tell the store only had one cart, so we bought it a little early for Jade's birthday to secure the cute gift.

Well, we left the cart out last night and as soon as Jade saw it this morning, she had to check it out. It was so cute, and being the push-over mom that I am, I couldn't not let her play with it! I figure if I put it away later for a couple months, it will be new to her again on her birthday anyway. So the best part of all this...Jadyn took a few steps on her own while playing with the cart!! I have been trying to help her along, but she seems to be happy with the way she currently gets around. She cruises along the furniture, then to the window, walks along the wall, grabs a chair, and if she needs to she'll pop down on her hands and knees and crawl. She is so independent she doesn't always like me to hold her hands or try to get her to stand up and come to me. She seems so close to walking, but just hasn't done it yet. But today we had some progress! Watch and see! (Oh, by the way, we were in between breakfast and getting dressed--that is why you get to see all the cute baby chub.)
