Two Against One

Cody really wants a dog. He has always wanted a dog. Me on the other hand, not so much. I'm not an animal person. At all. I just think they are dirty and don't like to touch them. Owning an animal would require contact. Now Cody's argument is how much fun Jadyn would have with a dog. Apparently Jadyn takes after her daddy because she starts pointing and yelling and talking and getting really excited whenever she sees a dog. I get worried because she all the sudden starts freaking out, so I think something is wrong. But then I look down at her and realize she is watching a dog and just getting really excited.

Last night was no different. Our friends, the Vatchers, had us over for dinner and they have a cute (which means a lot coming from me) little dog named Foxy. Wow. Jadyn LOVED that dog! And the dog loved her just as much. They played for a good 15 to 30 minutes--which is a long time for the short attention span of my nine month old! We caught a little bit on video, but didn't start recording until they had been playing for a while, so they both had calmed down A LOT. It still gives you a taste though. I guess Cody has Jadyn on his side.

Too cute! I agree with you about animals in the house, though. Blech. Is Jadyn walking on her own yet?

I'm totally with you. I am very anti-pet at the moment. You just have to remind Cody that even though he'll have fun playing with the dog, it's YOU who's going to have to do most of the work in regards to walking and feeding and cleaning up after. If you don't want to take on that responsibility, then I think that your opinion counts more than his. :)

Don't do it, Nicole! It sounds fun, but it's not worth the smell, the hair, the noise, the chewing on everything. I'm on your side, 2 against 2!

Oh that's so cute. Nicole, I'm on your side. Sorry Cody. I wanted a dog when I was a kid, but have since changed my mind, even though we have a dog in the house right now. (Dave's family's dog.) Katelyn loves him and is so gentle with him, which I figure is good practice for her upcoming baby brother. But... I still don't want one. (I don't like to touch them either.)

Well, I am totally with you on being anti-pet. It was almost a deal breaker when I found out Brent had a dog when we were dating. In Cody's defense though, Kennedy totally LOVES dogs too and I am getting a little excited for her to play with Brents dog when we get back to Utah. My only stipulation is the dog has to be an outside dog. I don't think I could handle the mess and dog hair everywhere inside, but on the other hand its hard when you see your little girl love them so much. Good luck on the decision!

That is so cute! Does that mean you are going to get a dog?

Stay strong Nicole...I have a feeling that Billy and I will have the same battle when we have kids...I am not an animal person at all! :)

Jadyn is adorable! I can't believe she is up and walking already.

That's really cute. But, don't give in Nicole...this is coming from a girl who doesn't like pets either. But your daughter does seem to really like them...hummmm. Tough one.

Owen wants a dog too. I say "NO WAY" in this apartment living lifestyle. Maybe with a house and backyard. Graham loves dogs as well. He "woofs" and squeals at every one we see.

Just go over to your friends house whenever you need a fix. :)
