As some of you have noticed and have inquired of me about, I have been a little bit out of the blogging world for a while. I haven’t kept up on posting to our blog and I haven’t kept up on reading everyone else’s either. My apologies to those of you who have cared. :) The last couple months have been fairly eventful. Just in case you are wondering, here are a couple of my excuses (good or bad) for not posting:
1. Busy season as an auditor started in full swing about the end of January/beginning of February. I started working about ten to twelve hours a day. There was a short time where I was working from seven to seven. It’s kind of depressing when I think about it, because I was working at a client’s office in a room about the size of my closet. And it wasn’t just me—there were three to four other guys in there with me. The room also had no windows, so I literally did not see the sun. I would come when it was dark and leave when it was dark. Needless to say, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was look at a computer (besides that, I was exhausted, so when I would get home, I would eat dinner and then go to bed, and start it all again the next day). If this lovely description doesn’t motivate you all to run out and become an auditor, I don’t know what will!
Just as a side note—after a short time going through the above routine, I started having these horrible aches and pains. There was one late night at the office that I even started getting blurry vision. So when I went to my doctor’s visit, I told her about these symptoms I was having. Although most pregnant women have aches and pains, she kind of gave me this funny look like the places I was getting them weren’t quite normal. She seemed a little concerned. Next thing I knew she had written me a “doctor’s note” to give to my work. She didn’t want me to work more than eight hours a day anymore. What a lifesaver! Thank you Doctor! I feel so much better now that I have been on this new schedule. I still have the aches and pains, but they are not nearly as severe and I haven’t had the blurry vision at all.
2. While I now have more free time after work, Cody is now done with school and I realized why I started blogging in the first place. Even though part of it was to keep in touch with family and friends, it was more to give myself something to do while he was studying. So now that he doesn’t have to study at night, I actually get to spend time with him and don’t have to find things to do to stop distracting him from homework! I have to say, I absolutely love it. It is so fun to come home and be able to make and eat dinner with him, then go on walks, out shopping, to friends’ houses, or just sit and talk. I’ve been enjoying this extra time with him so much that the blog just hasn’t been on the forefront of my mind.
Those are all the reasons I’m going to give you even though I can think of a couple other less significant ones. Hopefully you will all forgive me. Now with that explained, get ready for a flood of posts!!!

YEA!!! Your back. I've been wondering what has been going on with you guys. Glad to hear that you slowed down at work - its so much harder being pregnant - pretty much everything is. I can't wait - only a month left.
Hey, Nicole, it's good to see your posts again. :) Let me know if there's anything I can do for you!
Yuck! I don't envy the life of an auditor. We (at the health department) have a couple guys who audit us here every couple months and we tuck them into a little corner and try to pretend they are not there, they make us nervous :) I'm so excited for you and Cody! Babies are the best!!
Welcome back to blogging Nicole! That sounds awful to be working those long hours every day! How do you do it? Hey! Your baby will be here soon, then you get to do even more, but fun work!
