For Spring Break we decided to spend time touring Washington, D.C. We have some really close friends, the Banks, that live in Arlington who were kind enough to let us stay with them for a couple nights. It was fun to sightsee by day and hang out with friends by night!
Our trip started on a Tuesday morning with the four to five hour drive from our place to downtown D.C. Once we got there, we were able stretch our legs and walk the city a little bit. Being back in this city made me reminisce of the time I had visited for work almost eight years prior! The first landmark we stopped at was the White House.
I loved walking through the city, taking in all the architecture. D.C. is so pristine and stately. The colonial buildings are beautiful and the streets are clean.
Add in the blooming cherry blossom trees, and it made for a really lovely atmosphere!
Next we saw Washington Monument.
Then we walked to Tidal Basin to view more cherry blossoms!
Next we saw the World War II Memorial.
We took pause at our grandparents’ home state!
Our touring for the day ended with a grand finale at the Lincoln Memorial.
On our way back to the car, we were able to get another stunning glimpse of the Washington Monument. The perfect way to finish off our first day of touring!
