My poor baby was sick last week; he had bronchiolitis. The doctor gave him some antibiotics on Monday and that seemed to do the trick. He was smiling again a couple days later. It is nice to have my happy boy back!
Ridge turned four months old on Sunday and he went in for his check up this morning. He weighs 16 pounds, which is in the 50 and 75th percentile; his head is 17 inches, also between the 50 and 75th percentile. The nurse told me it was good he was in a lower percentile now; apparently last time they were worried he was overweight, funny they didn’t mention that until today though.
Ridge loves to play with his toys! He even seems to wrestle his bears and dog. His new favorite toy is a cute stuffed dog with long ears that Erin gave him. He will even laugh sometimes when he sees it. Pretty much everything he can get his hands on goes right into his mouth. I think I can see some teeth right under his gums—that would explain all the drooling!!
Ridge rolled over from his stomach to back for the first time on February 18th. He did it maybe three or four times and we have been trying to get him to do it again ever since! I think being sick halted any desire for developing the skill further. He just wanted to be cuddled. So here is a video of him not rolling over.
After Valentine’s Day, Jade was anxious for the next holiday and festivities. We promptly started cutting out shamrocks for decorations and I looked up craft ideas to fill the afternoons. She loves crafting (which means my kitchen table and surrounding area are always a disaster zone)!
Jade also loves to draw. This was her latest drawing of note:![]()
Need an explanation? I thought you might. This is how Jadyn explained it to me. The big thing in the middle is a pumper machine. Underneath, on the right side, you can see a little smiley face head. That is Jesus. He is pumping out all the things we need. You can see the machinery is pumping out a church and flower, and inside it has a lollipop, toys, grass, and a girl. “Because Jesus gives us everything, so the machinery pumps it out,” according to Jadyn.
Jade’s school takes pictures of their weekly activities and posts them on a secure website for the parents to view. I love having a peak into her school world!
A couple weeks ago, the class went on a fieldtrip to Safety Town, where they learned about the rules of the road: crosswalks, subways, footbridges, riding bikes, etc. It appears the area is set up so they can practice each of the rules in a safe environment. They even got to ride bikes. Jadyn was pretty excited to come home and tell me about that!

Show and tell is almost a weekly occurrence. One particular week was about families, so Jade took in a picture of our family and of her new brother. This is her with her teacher, Miss Abbie.![]()
The other day Jade was so excited to tell me Miss Aisling brought her dog to school! Jade was able to pet and feed it and the dog kissed her hand. ![]()
