From Hong Kong we went straight to Utah. Cody had to start his new position for Schindler in New Jersey (NJ) in a couple weeks, and we wanted to make sure he had a chance to see family first. We also needed to get the kids over jet lag and accustom to the grandparents and their houses before we left them to go set up our new life in NJ.
Again, the kids did great, but Ridge took a little more effort in the jet lag area. Cody and I took turns getting up with him for the first few nights. One morning I woke up to them passed out on the couch together. Poor boys. Becca took full advantage of the jet lag snuggles!
The first few days were spent at Grandpa and Grandma Rowland’s house.
Cody’s sister, Kensley, and her cute family also flew in from Arizona while we were in Utah. Jade loved hanging with Jim (and his fun iPad) and snuggling with baby Nixon.
The grandparents’ kid ATV was also a big hit.
One day we took a stroll on Grandma Rowland’s walking trail after a stop to throw rocks in the Farmington Pond.
I absolutely couldn’t get over how blue the skies in Utah are; I probably took a dozen pictures of just the sky.
Another day we took the short drive to Park City. After perusing the shops, we headed for the Alpine Slide.
Jade chose to ride down with Grandpa (he is WAY more fun than mom or dad). She was a bit nervous, but once she got going, she was all smiles the whole way down.
The last couple days of the week were spent at my parents’ house.
My sister, Charise, moved to Florida the next week. She was kind enough to stay a few extra days so we could see her and her cute Makayla. Makayla is just a few weeks older than Ridge. I’d like to say they played great, but apparently Ridge is a bit of a bully and kept stealing her toys (the little stinker!). Jade and Makayla, on the other hand, got along a lot better! Jade tells me she wishes Makayla could be in our family so she could see her everyday.
My sister, Becca, and her family also came over. The kids love Rhett (he is so cute with them!), and Jade and their daughter, Rion, play so good together!
A very fun week, but it went by way too quick!!
