Beach Baby

A couple weeks ago was Ridge’s first time to a beach! 

  

 

Our branch had a social at South Bay Beach.  Seriously the best idea for a church activity:  takes no planning or preparation—not even a reservation, there was a great turn out, people can come and go as they please, lots of time for socializing, and adults and kids alike had a ton of fun. 

At first Ridge had fun picking up the sand and letting it run through his fingers, then he realized he’d missed nap time and snuggled with mom or dad the rest of the time. 

 

Jade didn’t even notice.  She spent the day building sand castles, being a sand mermaid, swimming in the water—you know, all the stuff you’re supposed to do at the beach. 

 

I guess Ridge can learn from her example. Well, that is if he opens his eyes.  Actually, just before it was time to go, Ridge was awake enough to dip his feet in the water. 

Hopefully the small glimpse of him playing in the sand is an indicator he’ll like the beach as long as he gets his nap first!
